Shock Absorber is used to suppress the shock when the spring rebounds after absorbing the shock and the impact from the road. It is widely used in automobiles to accelerate the attenuation of frame and body vibrations and improve the ride comfort of automobiles. When passing through uneven roads, although the shock-absorbing spring can filter the vibration of the road surface, the spring itself will reciprocate, and the Shock Absorber is used to suppress this spring jumping.
How does Shock Absorber work?
What are the selection requirements for Shock Absorber?
When do we need to replace the Shock Absorber?
In the Shock Absorber suspension system, the elastic elements vibrate due to impact. In order to improve the ride comfort of the car, Shock Absorbers are installed in parallel with the elastic elements in the suspension. In order to attenuate the vibration, the Shock Absorbers used in the automobile suspension system are mostly hydraulic. The working principle of the Shock Absorber is that when the frame (or body) and the axle vibrate and there is relative movement, the piston in the Shock Absorber moves up and down, and the oil in the Shock Absorber cavity passes through one cavity repeatedly. A different pore flows into another cavity. At this time, the friction between the hole wall and the oil and the internal friction between the oil molecules form a damping force on the vibration, so that the vibration energy of the car is converted into heat energy of the oil, which is then absorbed by the Shock Absorber and released into the atmosphere. When the oil passage section and other factors are constant, the damping force increases or decreases with the relative movement speed between the frame and the axle (or wheel), and is related to the viscosity of the oil.
First, check whether the product provides a 2-3-inch lift requirement. Some products only provide a 2-inch lift. After barely using it to a 3-inch lift, it is easy to pull it to the limit and cause damage in off-road.
Second, whether the diameter of the telescopic rod in the center of the Shock Absorber can reach more than 16 mm, which is a basic indicator of strength.
Third, whether the upper and lower connecting sleeves of the Shock Absorber are high-strength polyurethane sleeves is also an important basis for ensuring long-term high-intensity use, because ordinary rubber is difficult to use under high-intensity for a long time.
If the car Shock Absorber leaks oil, it is undoubtedly a very dangerous thing for the Shock Absorber. Then, once an oil leak is found, timely remedial measures must be taken. The key inspection items are oil seal gasket, seal gasket rupture and damage, oil storage cylinder head, and check whether the nuts of these parts are loose.
